5 Reasons Not to Repeat 2024

Time is a strange concept, isn’t it? As you think back over what you did this year, you might feel like you’ve accomplished a ton in a small amount of time, or you might feel like nothing happened at all. Either way, one thing is for sure - there is no going back to repeat 2024, which is a good thing, and here is why.

Repetition may be helpful when learning math, or practicing basketball, or even perfecting conjugating verbs in Spanish. But if you try to repeat what you have accomplished this past year in the upcoming 12 months, you’ll find yourself in this same spot this time next year. If you want to advance in any aspect of your life, whether it is your career, your health, or your relationships, then take what you’ve been successful at this year and apply it in ways to get ahead, and not just maintain the status quo.

Here are more reasons to avoid repeating 2024:

  1. For your brain health -  set your sights on learning something new in 2025. If you did that in 2024, too, that’s great, but you cannot stop there. Studies show that learning new things benefits your brain, which is critical to fostering long-term self-care.

  2. To move forward - audit what you accomplished this year and compare it to your goals. Looking back is good because it shows you how far you’ve come and, hopefully, provides motivation and inspiration to move forward in the upcoming year.

  3. To promote positive change - learn from what you experienced this year. Good, bad, and everything in between. Implement new schedules, habits, or lifestyles based on what helped you achieve happiness.

  4. For a confidence boost - recognize the good you have done this year and celebrate - you deserve it! But don’t stop now - you have proven to yourself that you’re highly capable. Take what you did in 2024 and push yourself even higher - every time you succeed, your confidence rises. So, let your dream become your reality by following your heart this year. You have a blank slate right in front of you, and you can do anything!

  5. To give back more - contribute time, talent, or treasure to your community more this year than last to make your world a better place and increase your sense of fulfillment. If you stick with what you gave last year, you pass up the opportunity to use your unique abilities to help others in a more impactful way.

As New Year’s Eve draws near, it is common to look back at the highlights of your year. Maybe you had a major life event, such as a graduation, a birth, or a new job. Perhaps you took a trip to the Grand Canyon and now have photos on your wall to remind you of your adventure every day.

No matter what kind of year it’s been, celebrate! If it was mostly bad, be happy that it’s over, and if it was mostly good, then prepare to build on what worked.

I am so glad for you and everything you did in 2024! But I know that 2025 is going to be EVEN BETTER! We can work together to create a map of what you can do each month to make 2025 your best year yet. Contact me today at www.StephanieMariesCoaching.com to sign up for a FREE consultation!
